教职工总数948人，其中专任教师672人，专任教师中具有高级专业技术职务的207人，具有硕士及以上学位的303人，教师职称结构、学历结构、知识结构合理。学院在充分发挥中老年教师作用的同时，特别重视青年教师的培养提高。对于政治过硬、业务突出又有组织领导能力的教师，大胆提拔到领导岗位上来，让他们更快地锻炼成长，一批在省内外颇有影响的学科带头人、学术带头人正在迅速成长。现有全国模范教师、河北省模范教师和唐山市十佳教师5人，河北盛唐山市社会科学优秀中青年专家11人，市管拔尖人才、优秀专家和自然科学领军人物5人，院级教学名师7人。同时，学院还注重兼职教师队伍的建设，特聘中国科学院院士闻邦椿、中国工程院院士钱清泉等国际、国内知名学者为兼职教授。
